The Artist Explains Riley Pearce - 'All My Love'

Riley Pearce speaks to us about his moving music video for ‘All My Love’ which tells the story of two lovers who communicate through sign language.

Where was the video for 'All My Love' filmed?
The music video was filmed up on the coast of Perth, a nice little cove sheltered from the wind.

How does the video connect with the song?
The song is essentially about finding someone who brings out the best version of yourself, whereas the video tapped into another side of the song. When things are going wrong (in this case the end of the world), who do you want to spend that last moment with.

Do you have any behind the scenes stories you could share with us?
Not too many, it was all done in quite a short period of time. I wasn’t acting in the clip, that was the lovely Jade & Dom. I was on coffee and food deliveries for the crew… mostly as an excuse for me to be there. The main reason I got the chips in the first place was for the chip throwing scene, but I got carried away and almost ate them all before we even filmed.

Can you tell us about the ideas/themes/imagery used?

The music video tells the story of two lovers who communicate through sign language spending their last day together on the beach, having fun, watching a meteor. I was thrilled Director Steve Browne was able to find actors (Dom who was deaf and Jade whose parents were deaf and grew up signing), as they’re quite often lacking representation in the media.
