Sucker Song Of The Week: Spyres - 'Fake ID'

Scotland’s new indie prospects, Spyres, are back with their brand-new single Fake ID - three and a half minutes of guitar-driven, energy-infused rock-pop goodness.

It’s easy to see why this young four-piece are turning the heads of industry folk up and down the country: they’re writing what could quite easily be pop songs, but are dripping with heavy riffs and a shout or two to match.

Sypres are supporting The Jesus And Mary Chain in March, they’re touring with Lauran Hibberd next month, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders loves them and it’s difficult to see just when these Glaswegians are going to slow down. They’ll be no doubt buzzing across the airwaves for the rest of the year now with hopefully more anthemic indie-rock anthems, because we need more than just two singles from them, right?

Catch Spyres supporting Lauran Hibberd with Abbie Ozard across the UK this month. Tickets can be booked here.
