Bradley Arthur Maxwell - 'Alone'
Americana singer/songwriter Bradley Arthur Maxwell ponders the self-imposed isolation of our digital age in his poignant new video for current single, ‘Alone’.
Recorded at Echo Lake Studios near Halifax, Nova Scotia with multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Ledwell, Bradley Arthur Maxwell’s is a moody cut of americana with a startlingly beautiful cinematic heart. ‘Alone’ is awash with emotion seeing Maxwell’s hushed melancholic vocal soar out of affecting guitar, and string arrangements with aching sincerity, as Maxwell reflects on the themes of loneliness against a soundscape that feels both barren and expansive in its use of distant whistling.
The tack also comes with a poignant music video which was shot on a smartphone to explore isolation in the digital age:
”Footage was captured across multiple cities, over a four month time period and is intended as an observational piece to reflect society and where most of our focus currently lies - in our devices rather than with the world and those around us. It is stylistically voyeuristic yet like a mirror, provides a look at ourselves. A reminder for us to look up a little more often”.
Following on from ‘Easy On Me’ ‘Alone’ marks the second single to be released from Bradley Arthur Maxwell’s sessions with Daniel Ledwell, with more to follow in the coming months.
