Slam Dunk’s salacious line-up is complete once more. Stages, check. Acts, check. Now it’s time to wait.
It’s that time of the year again folks. Another brilliant festival has run out of acts to tease us with; Slam Dunk 2020 is ‘complete’. The stages have come to fruition, including a brand new main stage (‘Rock Scene, powered by Amazon Music’) alongside the old Fireball stage, and the lineup is, barring one or two little additions sure to come, finished.
And with 14 new acts added, it’s looking to be a spicy Saturday and Sunday.
Joining Don Broco, Sum 41, While She Sleeps and the rest, we have the likes of Stand Atlantic, Vukovi, With Confidence, Wargasm, Yours Truly, Roam and loads more! Well, 8 more, if you want to be a pedant, but still.
This huge announcement comes after the Jagermeister stage announced its final two acts on Monday. Joining the previously announced six acts are the Brits of ‘Blood Youth’ and the Canadians of ‘Counterparts’.
Blood Youth are sure to bring their sanguine brand of heavy haemophilic headbanging as they open the heavy stage — what a way to start the day — while their counterparts in Counterparts shall undoubtedly create some terrifying circle pits later on to rejuvenate the masses!
Notably, many of these late additions are female fronted; given Slam Dunk has come under fire recently for a lack of gender diversity recently; for anyone concerned, this ‘final’ announcement looks set to remedy that, if not wholly fix it.
Judging from some quick maths reading the poster, there are now 69 acts playing Slam Dunk, as well as some infamously secret Slam Dunk acts. Last year we had Busted; who’s to know what’s to come?
