The Artist Explains: Tessa Dixson - 'Tender Me'

Tessa Dixson talks to us about her strikingly beautiful single/music video ‘Tender Me’ which uses dance, intimacy and floral imagery to explore the themes of healthy, flourishing relationships.

Where was the video for ‘Tender Me’ filmed?
The video was filmed in Brussels at a studio called La Fabrique.

How does the video connect with the song?
It connects on many levels. the song in itself is about a healthy relationship where 2 flowers grow and flourish together so for the video we decided to concentrate on the flower aspect but also the way the 2 boys touch each other the gentleness of their movements really resonates with the song.

Do you have any behind the scenes stories you can share with us?

There is no real bts story but the shots with the boys were literally added to the concept one day before shooting.

Could you tell us about the ideas/themes/imagery used?
As mentioned in the first question, we started with the concept of the flowers. I have a friend who makes flower installations and thought of her straight away, so we just started with her work first and built around that, i knew i wanted some great fashion moments like the shot towards the end with the flower dress and dancing. The different ideas for the music video really worked well together and the whole concept is actually how i had envisioned the music video to be.

Is there a message the video is trying to convey?
There is no real message, the video and song are open to the message the public wants to give it.
