Oscar Lang - 'Flowers'

Teenage wonder Oscar Lang has brought the Summer vibes early with his new single ‘Flowers’.

The 18-year-old has always been a self-starter, releasing 2018’s ‘Teenage Hurt’ and ‘Silk’ all on his own. The work certainly didn’t go unnoticed with the youngster becoming a part of the highly regarded Dirty Hit roster where he released last year’s ‘Bops etc.’ and joined fellow alumni No Rome and Beabadoobee on the Dirty Hit Tour before the new year.

2020 is already shaping up to be a stellar year in the budding career of the Londoner, with a string of headline shows on the horizon in April, but ‘Flowers’ is the first calling point and sonically, it is a continuation of last year’s EP in all the right ways with the glimmering instrumentation and rhythms makes it truly infectious.

Despite his Dirty Hit links, the teenager continues to push his bedroom pop as he once again wrote and co-produced the single and will certainly set the tone for a much-anticipated longer release later in the year. You certainly hear a lot of different sounds and influences, mixing psychedelic screams with fluffy, Beatles-inspired jaunty sounds.

Lang has spoken of his excitement for the “new change” in his sound and the appreciation to have the opportunity to professionally record songs he’s been recording since the age of 16. It’s hard not to tap along to ‘Flowers’ and it seems that the sky is the limit for the self-made talent.

‘Flowers’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Oscar Lang will support Love Fame Tragedy at London’s Heaven on March 3rd.
