Quiet Brother - 'Running'

Indie-folk band Quiet Brother explore the themes of change and habitual behaviour on introspective single, ‘Running’.

Opening with a gentle guitar melody and vibrant cinematic ambience, Quiet Brother set a thrilling, organic backdrop to ‘Running’. As the track progresses it incorporates a thumping indie folk sound that dips a tentative toe into rousing territory before falling back to gentle restrain. This is a song that shivers with emotion and deeply affecting textures and there’s a real sense of poignancy and sincerity in the lead singer’s hushed, echoed vocal which gets more passionate as the track climaxes, before fading out on a beautiful instrumental.

Thematically, the band explains, ”This song is about knowing you need to change parts of your life, but finding yourself running in circles and going back to those old habits. As the chorus goes, "I've been running so long I can't remember when I started, every time I try to stay the path I change the course and just keep running."

’Running’ is the band’s most recent single which was released in October 2019 and I have everything crossed that 2020 comes with the promise of new material from the incredibly talented, Quiet Brother.
