Axel Flóvent - 'Driving Hours'
Icelandic singer-songwriter Axel Flóvent gets reflective on 80s tinged slow burner, ‘Driving Hours’ taken from his upcoming EP, ‘Tourist’ due for release 27th March.
There’s a smouldering sincerity to Axel Flóvent’s new single, 'Driving Hours’ that embraces mellow, sentimental 80s pop influences to create an emotionally drenched, melodic indie pop sound to get lost in. Flóvent has teamed up with producer Ian Grimble on his upcoming EP, ‘Tourist’ and ‘Driving Hours’ smoothly falls somewhere between the brooding yet blissful folk rock sound of Bear’s Den and the nostalgic indie pop sound of the 1975.
Thematically, Flóvent uses ‘Driving Hours’ to explore the theme of regrets from being your own road block and damaging a relationship by overthinking and indecisiveness.
’Driving Hours’ is a sentimental and introspective cut that is the perfect soundtrack to night time drives getting lost and found in the shadows inbetween each passing street lights.
