Peakes – 'A Sacred Place'
Leeds based alt-pop three-piece Peakes return with new single ‘A Sacred Place’ – encouraging us to spend more time in our own company.
With fuzzy beats and ambient electronics, ‘A Sacred Place’ is instantly addictive. The magnetic atmosphere building the backdrop to front-woman Molly Puckering’s searing vocals. Crisp and alluring, she is the guiding light navigating the depth of sonic space.
The “sacred place”, here, is your own head, your imagination – “Relax, unwind in the perfect space of your mind. Sit back, recline. Escape a clouded world that’s unkind.” An important message, especially when looking at recent events.
Talking about the inspiration behind the track, vocalist Molly Puckering explains: “It’s a homage to the human brain and the mind's capabilities. A reminder to be content in your own head. We forget to take a step back and exist in our thoughts and this song is about the importance of contemplation”
