Peter Sandberg - Unhold Me (ft. Arctic Lake)
Swedish composer Peter Sandberg teams up with UK alt-pop group Arctic Lake on achingly beautiful single, ‘Unhold Me’.
Neo-classical and electronic composer Peter Sandberg marks his first release of 2020 with the stunning single, ‘Unhold Me’ which sees Emma Foster of Arctic Lake lend her voice to also commemorate Sandberg’s first vocal collaboration. The track opens with swelling and moody ambient electronic textures seeing Foster’s sumptuous solemn and haunted, as she narrates the moment where you realise it’s time to let go of a relationship that has run its course.
There is something oddly chilling about the track’s plaintive execution seeing ‘Unhold Me’ seep an honesty that makes the pain and heartache of ending an important human connection palpable. And the emotion of the lyrical theme translates well in the conflicted production that throbs with synthetic intricacy and complexity. Sandberg’s stays true to his neo-classical roots by ending the song on a thought-provoking minimal piano melody. ‘Unhold Me’ is exquisite and emotionally stirring in its entirety.
