POTTERY - 'Hot Like Jungle'

Post-punk, pop and dance quintet Pottery return with a transparent love song that conjures up visions of red hot and romance-filled lazy days.

‘Hot Like Jungle’ was written by the band’s drummer for his girlfriend during a summer that he was working in construction, as a kind of ‘Springsteen parody’. As well as having a clear 80s sonic aesthetic throughout their music, the Montreal-based band liken their records as being portals to their ‘psychedelic dreamworld’. This track is no exception - as it progresses we’re mentally transported to an imaginary chill wonderland. It’s a mirage-like song; the slow tempo, syrupy vocals, and sticky guitar make it hard not to visualise that endless summer heat and optimism. A perfect tonic during lockdown, Hot Like Jungle is available online now and is accompanied by an animated video created by Pottery drummer Paul.

This marks the third single from their anticipated debut album ‘Welcome To Bobby's Motel’, following on from 'Texas Drums Pt. I & II' and 'Take Your Time'. The eleven-track release was produced by Jonathan Schenke (Parquet Courts, Snail Mail) and will be available on June 26th via Partisan Records.

The band will be heading out on a rescheduled tour later this year, with new UK dates earmarked for September. They’ll also be touring Europe and North America.
