Slam Dunk restock its beautiful stacks

Slam Dunk, after it’s reassuring and hope filled announcement of being rescheduled rather than cancelled, has started to restock its beautiful stacks of artists with the first new acts being announced today: Alkaline Trio and The Used.

Joining the likes of Don Broco, Sum 41, The Wonder Years, Young Guns, While She Sleeps and more, 2020 marks the first appearance of legends Alkaline Trio, led by the iconic Matt Skiba (more recently known as a member of Blink 182). 24 years, 9 studio albums, relentless energy, unflinching defiance and a hell of a good sound spells out what is sure to be an amazing set.

Along with Alkaline Trio comes The Used! Again. The brilliant emo rockers are back; after their unmissable opportunity presumably fell through amidst the global pandemic, the stars aligned, the dates arranged themselves and they’ve announced that they’re back to grace our shores once more. Hopefully.

So far the damage to the line up as been reasonable minimal, considering the sheer logistic and administrative uproar the new dates must have caused; thankfully, the vast majority of the acts are still down as playing, and now the typical Summer starter has become what is sure to be a almost frenzied release from our lockdown fuelled isolation; I for one can’t wait for what is guaranteed to be an unparalleled day — especially for 2020.
