The Daylight - 'Ghosts'

The Daylight pack an emotional punch as they look at grief in their new single ‘Ghosts’.

Hailing from South East London and Brighton, this three-piece has begun to garner attention for their indie/post shoegaze sound. Their emotionally searching sound has also seen them capture a loyal fan base, securing sold out shows at the 100 Club, Old Blue Last, The Lexington and the Green Door Store to name a few.

It comes as a surprise that ‘Ghosts’ is only the second release from this Southern trio, but sees The Daylight adapt their sound dramatically from their debut single ‘Department Of Dreams’ as they feed into their lyrical inspiration brilliantly as they take the listener down an emotionally dark path.

From the off, ‘Ghosts’ certainly packs a bigger punch than its predecessor, with the trio tackling grief over the loss of a friend and how that loss can lead to struggles with mental health. It’s rare you see such a young band with such a unique voice and The Daylight are certainly on the right path to be one of the country’s best up and coming bands.

‘Ghosts’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and The Daylight is set to support Hanya at The Rosehill, Brighton on September 17th.
