Cherym - 'Weird Ones'
One of the great things about pop-punk is that it offers a refuge for outcasts and rebels, the ones who don’t fit in and don’t want to fit. It’s almost an unspoken rule to have an anthem for this specific occasion and new single ‘Weird Ones’ is Cherym’s answer to proudly owning your weird.
Roaring guitars, punchy beats and infectious melodies that accelerate into a big chorus complete the pop-punk fantasy. Cherym confidently welcome a new era of Girls-to-the-front mentality and establish themselves as leaders of the pack with an attitude that is effortlessly cool and inspiringly sassy - “Her friends think we’re the weird ones, […] they don’t know what’s gonna come, […] They’re always making up stuff, […] as if we’re never good enough.”
Talking about the track, the band explain: “Weird Ones is a song about an old friend who eventually just started to distance themself from me for whatever reason. They got some new friends and this was really my plan to confront the person”.
