Marsicans - ‘Summery In Angus’
Marsicans have taken it up yet another gear ahead of their debut LP with the aptly named new single ‘Summery In Angus’.
The quartet from Leeds are quickly becoming one of the brightest acts in the music industry, tipped by many to be one of the biggest things in 2020. All the signs are pointing in the right direction ahead of the launch of their debut LP ‘Ursa Major’, which is now set to be released in August.
Like many artists, the four-piece have fallen victim to the current crisis, missing out on their American debut at SXSW and the pushback on their debut LP and album tour. But come the Autumn, the quartet and fans alike will be chomping at the bit for a party when they finally embark on their UK tour.
‘Summery In Angus’ is the fourth cut from ‘Ursa Major’, but despite the unusual name, it’s a glistening pop anthem that explores the dichotomy of self. The track is inspired by the time Storm Angus rocked the UK, something frontman James Newbiggin combated by wearing an “over-the-top summery shirt and shorts” indoors.
It delves much deeper than that as it looks at “two sides of yourself” and the “inner fight” to remain positive when everything seems to be “going wrong”. Marsicans are proving their talent in being able to not only make dreamy indie songs but tackling real world in their unique way and are proving truly worthy of their hype.
‘Summery In Angus’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and Marsicans will kick off their album tour at Aberdeen Tunnels on October 14th.
