Psycho Comedy – ‘I’m Numb’

Clocking in at a fast 2:43, ‘I’m Numb’ is modern garage rock at its finest.

Psycho Comedy’s latest single and music video ‘I’m Numb’ is the latest offering from their critically acclaimed debut album Performance Space Number One. It follows the release of singles ‘Pick Me Up’ and ‘Standin’’, both of which have received BBC Radio 6 airplay. ‘I’m Numb’ is set to follow suit, as the Liverpool band channel Iggy Pop’s ‘Lust for Life’ with the hooks and glamour T. Rex into a raucous rock n’ roll tune. And for any guitarists reading, there’s the most wonderful and simple gnarly guitar solo of fuzz, feedback and a monstrous string bend.

Mixed with a “sinister tone and black comedy”, ‘I’m Numb’ is “a late night/early morning memoir”. With lines such as “You take drugs just to see you take them/I hope you die, I’ll kill you for them”, ‘I’m Numb’ is a straight forward talking and gritty rock piece that wouldn’t go amiss on Lou Reed’s Transformer.
