The Artist Explains: Jenny O. - 'What About That Day'
Jenny O. talks to us about soaking in the Malibu ocean views in her vintage-inspired music video, ‘What About That Day’ taken from her upcoming album, ‘New Truth’ due out on Mama Bird Recording Co.
Where was the video filmed?
Malibu. I was heartbroken at the time and my friend Sam suggested we drive to the ocean and shoot some Super 8. It was a foggy sunny beautiful day.
How does the video connect with the song?
Well the song is about one magic day, a possibility you hold onto when trying to make something work that just won’t. It’s a memory. It's over.
Do you have any behind the scenes stories you could share with us?
I didn't want to be driving but Sam needed to film. That's my favourite beach, a place I go and have magic days.
Can you tell us about the ideas/themes/imagery used?
Some things happen twice, backwards, the fog rolls in.
Is there a message the video is trying to convey?
