Selsom - 'Iming'
Norwegian-born musician Selsom releases an ode to snow on beautiful neo-classical composition, ‘Iming’.
Selsom is the composer alias of songwriter and producer Stian Vedøy who makes up one half of indie folk pop duo, Firewoodisland. ‘Iming’ is the second composition Selsom has released so far and it’s a magical piano-driven track that is supported by magical organic sounding synths and ambient sonic nuances which succeeds in its intention to transport its listener to somewhere engrossing and relaxing.
With 100 words for snow in the Norwegian language "Iming" (pronounced Ee-ming) is used to describe the dry, light flakes falling like dust. Selsom has embedded this definition into the sonic structure, seeing minimal glacial textures fall gently, then all at once, then gently again, allowing his listener to savour the moment. The true beauty of ‘Iming’ will leave you feeling satisfied and shivering.
