Mockingbird – 'Undone'
28-year-old artist originally from Zagreb and former Punčke frontwoman, Lucija Ivšić, releases her first single under new name and solo project Mockingbird.
Everything about ‘Undone’ screams with urgency from its softly melodic guitars that lead into an impressively emotive chorus to Mockingbird’s introspective songwriting – “This feels like I’m breaking, will time really fix it all?” Despite its DIY nature, this track is nothing short of cinematic. Talking about her journey, Luciha reveals: “I moved from Croatia to Melbourne a couple of months back and literally left everything back there, including my first band Punčke (after being a frontman there for 13 years). Moving to Melbourne without knowing anyone was hard and ‘Undone’ was the first song I wrote here and decided to start something new...this time all by myself. Mockingbird is a sum of all of my alter-egos - a place where everything that I truly am finally comes together and it always feels like home.”
