The Wha - 'Blue For You'

The Wha Continue to build their reputation as one of Ireland’s brightest musical prospects as they channel shameless pop with their new single ‘Blue For You’.

The comradery within this four-piece runs deep, with the dual vocalists Finn and Sam being friends since primary school and planting the seeds for The Wha in their early teens. The two have grown up and added Marek and Abe along the way and cemented themselves as one of Ireland’s fastest-rising indie bands.

The Kilkenny quartet are quickly carving out their path with their alternative sound which is swamped in emotion and humour. Previous singles ’40 Odd Years’ and ‘Innocents’ were met with acclaim, but it’s suspected that their latest cut will help the quartet break through the glass ceiling.

Produced by the legendary Stephen Street, ‘Blue For You’ is a new exploration for the band, delving deep into a “confused reflection” while matching that up to their typical jangly guitars to create a “shameless pop song” which has a feel good “jingle-jangle” vibe.

It’s refreshing to see such a young band try something new, not confine themselves in a self-made box and make something with a longing impact. ‘Blue For You’ is all that and more and gives The Wha the right to be the next big thing.

‘Blue For You’, the new single from The Wha is available now on all major streaming platforms.
