The Band Explains: Lucia & the Best Boys - 'Let Go'
Lucia & the Best Boys are back with a brand new single ‘Let Go’. The band are usually known for their unique alt-rock sound, but this new track sees the group offer something different - an atmospheric tune that will make your arm hairs stand on end with chills. We had a chat with the band about the track.
So, ‘Let Go’ is out now, how does it feel to have it out there?
It feels good. It’s been something that’s kept us excited and creative during isolation, as all the artwork was created over the last couple of months. It’s the first time since our first release that we’ve not re-recorded something, this is the most honest and real version of the song, and probably the most raw of anything we have ever released.
Can you tell us what the track is about?
To be honest I think it’s quite self explanatory so when people listen to the song I think they will have a real understanding of what I’m talking about pretty quick, it’s very direct.
Your usual style is usually big alt-rock sounds, but this track is quite different to that. What has caused this new sound?
It’s Just how I was feeling at the time. It was very present and felt natural. It wasn’t a forced thought like, ‘I’m going to write something much more delicate and sweet sounding now’ it just kind of happened.
Would you say this is an honest song?
Yeah it is.
The track is being released during the middle of a global health crisis, that has hit the music industry hard in regards to tours, festivals and much more. How has it affected you? And how are you keeping motivated?
It’s affected us just like every other artist, we are all unable to tour which is a major part of our lives. This release has kept us going and I’ve enjoyed discovering so much new music myself through isolation, so I’d hope that new people will come across us too. I feel like I’ve adapted quicker than I expected I would and my brain is constantly still thinking in a creative way.
