Irish indie darlings The Academic are teasing their upcoming EP with their glistening new single ‘Anything Could Happen’. 

This four-piece from the quaint Irish town of Mullingar are rock stars in their own right on the emerald isle, with a number 1 album already under their belts and having been handpicked to support The Rolling Stones. Their 2018 debut LP ‘Tales From The Backseat’ was one of the surprises of the year, with each track proving to be as addictive as the last. 

‘Anything Could Happen’ is set to be this four-piece’s moment to break through internationally. This band’s live show has also become stuff of legend in their home country, with fans across the UK to get a taste of their energy towards the end of the year. ‘Anything Could Happen’ is the first teaser of the band’s first body of work since ‘Tales From The Backseat’ and those two years have shown a maturity in their sound while keeping the glistening addictive indie sound that The Academic have become renowned for. 

Billed as a rally cry, this track is for the masses who find themselves in a “cycles of mundanity and monotony” and giving people the platform for self-love and to “take control” of their own futures. ‘Anything Could Happen’ has certainly taken on a new meaning given the current situation, but the positivity that comes in The Academic’s music is a much-needed remedy right now and will go a long way to giving the four-piece the international platform they fully deserve.
