Anna Sofia – 'Either Way'
Following the success of debut EP ‘Self Aware Bitch’, 16-year-old Toronto singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Anna Sofia, shares a beautiful new single ‘Either Way’.
Soft piano and soothing vocals open the track, giving ‘Either Way’ an air of quiet comfort (you may want to turn the volume up for full blanket effect). This sense of tranquillity is the perfect setting for Anna Sofia’s expressive vocals that are amplified by stunning harmonies and give weight to her emotive lyricism – “Internal war, fighting for more. Thoughts keep you down, you won’t let them out. I love you either way.” Similar to Billie Eilish’s ‘idontwannabeyouanymore’, ‘Either Way’ stays with you long after listening but with the crucial difference that this one is a lot more loving.
Talking about ‘Either Way’, Anna says: “I wrote this song as a note to someone I really care for. They have been struggling with body image issues and have always been very self-conscious. I wanted to find a way to really get through to them and let them know how I feel about them - to let them know that I love them no matter what they look like.”
