LA singer-songwriter Caity Krone shares new melodic pop single ‘I’ve Been Lonely’ – a reflection on unrequited love.

‘I’ve Been Lonely’ opens dreamy and soft with layered vocals that coat the track in a pastel haze and give it a subtle folk colouring. Rhythmic drums slowly pick up the tempo and urgency in Caity’s vocals, drawing attention to her intricate lyricism – “Hold on to me tight ‘cause we’re gonna take on the world […] ‘cause I’ve been lonely for so long, looking for you.”

Talking about ‘I’ve Been Lonely’, Caity reveals: “I wrote the song about the kind of relationship I wanted to have with someone, and how by idealizing this person I was closing myself off to real people, real experiences, real heartbreak. I started the song at the beginning of the recording process in late 2017, still pining, and finished writing the bridge during the final few days of recording last year with the lyric ‘I’ve been underwater since we met’, because through the process of writing, co-producing, and recording the EP, I realized that I wasn’t being fair to myself, just sitting around waiting for this one person to want me.”
