Hayden Calnin - 'Unfortunate Love' (feat. Harrison Storm)

Australian singer-songwriter and producer Hayden Calnin announces his forthcoming EP ‘Soon Forever’ (September 4th) alongside first taster, breath-taking new single ‘Unfortunate Love’ featuring long-time friend and roommate Harrison Storm.

‘Unfortunate Love’ renders speechless. Soothing, tranquil melodies float downstream alongside beautifully layered vocals that capture an undeniably emotive quality. Its clean, minimalist production gives ‘Unfortunate Love’ enough space to breathe, creating a vast, seemingly endless soundscape that invites to dream while intricate lyricism makes your heart ache with understanding – “Sorry my love, I was tied up, never showed up even for what it’s worth, this is all right, wasn’t done yet.”

Speaking about ‘Unfortunate Love’, Harrison explains, “Hayden and I spent an evening in our home studio one night, piecing together some lyrics to the chorus melody based around a break-up I went through last year. It was interesting having Hayden’s perspective and understanding on the situation seeing as we live together and was really aware of what was going on. The sentiment of the song touches on not being unfairly resentful of the break-up and moving on in a somewhat healthy way.”
