South London’s brightest dup PELA are back and offering a glistening slice of escapism with their latest single ‘Reverie’.
2020 has been quite the year for this two-piece, beginning their journey and now receiving backing from some of the biggest names in the industry after only three singles and continue to forge their own unique trajectory with each single thus far being more unique and better than the last.
‘Reverie’ has proven to be a labour of love for Hannah and Olly, with “4 or 5” different versions of the song before settling on the final version that is fully embracive of their distinctive identity and perfectly captures the “dreamlike state” that the duo where aiming for.
A lot of elements have gone into making the excellent journey that ‘Reverie’ turns out to be, whether it’s the fuzzy electronics, the sleek saxophone or Hannah’s honeyed vocals, ‘Reverie’ really gives you a warm feeling and perfectly expresses this duo’s distinctive identity amongst many others in the industry.
