Florence Arman – 'Naked'
Young pop icon in the making, Florence Arman, shares intimate debut single ‘Naked’.
Florence describes the inspiration behind ‘Naked’ in a limerick:
“there once was a girl called flo
who had a best friend years ago
But unluckily
he’s a pile of pee
who left without letting her know.”
And she couldn’t have put it better. ‘Naked’ is all about vulnerability, stripping down to the soul, but it doesn’t dwell on anger, it turns it into something lighter. You may find hidden traces of bitterness in its sparkling guitar lines and soaring melodies but that’s only because revenge is best served cold with a side of bubbly wit and humour. Florence’s bright, breathy vocals wrap the track in an air of playfulness that finds itself in her clever lyricism – “And you don’t deserve it, no offence, but you made a bloody awful mess and I only still love ‘cause I’m strange.”
‘Naked’ is the first single taken from a promising (seven track) debut EP. A project that is going to put Florence Arman on the map as a voice to look out for and bless us with a much-needed dose of intricate pop anthems.
