Sarah Walk shares new single ‘Unravel’ - the pièce de résistance taken from her sophomore record ‘Another Me’ (August 28th).

“The songs on my first album were a means to survive the immediate, and my songs on this album have been a journey in learning how to take up space and thrive in the long term,” Sarah says about ‘Another Me’, an album that examines marginalisation, survival, death, misogyny and vulnerability. With defiant opening line “nothing’s hurt me more than men that grew up with no consequences.” ‘Unravel’ aims to dismantle the patriarchy by uncovering the institutionalised entitlement of (straight, white, cis) men. Her poignant lyricism and transcendent vocals own the stage. A soft instrumental backing of subtle piano and steady, insistent beats continuously draws the attention back to her words of empowerment that echo throughout the track until they burst into a final soaring chorus that feels like liberation.

Speaking about the track, Sarah reveals: “’Unravel’ was one of the easiest songs for me to write, and the hardest for me to release. It was written late one night during an extremely difficult period of time for me where I was learning how to set boundaries in relationships that weren't healthy for me - Discovering that I have the power to shape how I'm treated instead of letting it happen to me.”
