Estella Dawn - 'Filler 2.0'

New Zealand born, Colorado raised singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Estella Dawn shares disarming new single ‘Filler 2.0’.

‘Filler 2.0’ is the epitome of a heartfelt ballad. Extremely well-crafted melodies wrap themselves around soft guitar lines and layered harmonies to create an intimate soundscape. The perfect setting to be vulnerable. As if to prove a point, Estella Dawn’s soulful and emotive vocals are laced with defeat and frustration as she sings “What did you want: a perfect copy? Why can’t you want all that I can be?” A song that is relatable as much as it is heart-breaking, ‘Filler 2.0’ definitely hits a mark.

”It is frustrating and tiring being in a relationship with someone when they are constantly comparing you to their ex. No matter how hard you try to get them to appreciate you, they can’t seem to let their past go,” Estella says about the track. “When you get out of a relationship it can often leave you feeling quite empty and emotionally drained. Sometimes you’ve got baggage that you should really unpack. Often though it’s easier to jump quickly into a new relationship with someone else just to fill the void, to push all of your internal struggles to the side. But it’s hard to be there for someone if you’re burnt out. This song is about investing in someone that isn’t healed enough be invested in you.”
