Hector Gannet - 'The Launch'
Hector Gannet have announced their long-awaited debut album the only way they know how, with another beautiful tribute to the North East with their new single ‘The Launch’.
This band, the brainchild of musician Aaron Duff has the North East right through its core and join an ever-increasing roster of musicians coming from the region and specifically Duff’s hometown of North Shields, sharing the same school and regularly the stage with friend Sam Fender.
Gannet have forged their own path and their own unique fanbase with their own brand of folk which has poetic elements to its lyrics. Fans have been aching for a large body of work from the quartet, and their patience will be rewarded come the Autumn with Gannet’s debut LP ‘Big Harcar’ which is always made in the North East with Paul Gregory of the Mercury Prize-nominated Laterns on The Lake producing.
‘The Launch’ is the perfect way to launch the LP and certainly gives the listener a feel what we can expect, showing pride in the rich shipping heritage that is engrained in the North and how many families are intertwined through the industry. ‘The Launch’ isn’t reliant much on actual lyrics, but was is most striking is the rousing music that continuously builds and is one that gets better with every listen.
‘The launch’ is available now on all major streaming platforms and ‘Big Harcar’, the debut album from Hector Gannet will be available October 30th.
