Bryony Williams – 'Knockin’
Wolverhampton’s Bryony Williams shares rock-infused new single ‘Knockin’’- the second offering from upcoming EP ‘State I’m In’.
‘Knockin’’ packs a punch. Fuzzy guitars draped over a thunderous thud of distorted drums act as an outlet for repressed anger. “Knockin’ encapsulates my take on depression and how intrusive it is,” Bryony explains. “It’s an outcry of ownership mixed with a whole lot of anger because it can hit at any moment and goes on the invisible attack. It’s a reflection of what it’s like to be stuck in your own little head.” Bryony’s raw, punchy vocals insert themselves into this tumultuous backdrop, perfectly capturing the air of frustration that is laced through her poignant lyricism – “I don’t know what’s real anymore. I’m in my head but I feel braindead.”
‘Knockin’’ is a brilliant second single announcing the arrival of what is bound to be an exciting and topically relevant new EP later this year. Talking more about the track, Bryony adds: “Clearly, I’ve had enough, and I’m done with depression getting a hold of me and damaging my confidence and ability to trust. Though that’s easier sang than done.”
