Baker Grace – 'B.Y.F.M'

19-year-old singer songwriter Baker Grace shares ‘B.Y.F.M’, the final track taken from her sophomore EP ‘Yourz Truly’.

“Each song is a letter to myself or to somebody else, because writing letters has always been one of the best ways for me to be completely truthful,” Grace says about the EP. In keeping with that sentiment, ‘B.Y.F.M’ is a letter to social media, a letter to unrealistic expectations, a letter to superficiality. Wrapped into a magnetic backdrop of beat-laden melodies, Grace’s stunning vocals soar above the scene, asserting her dominance with every note. Sweet, dreamy verses turn into a hook-heavy, confident chorus as she paints herself in all her multi-faceted beauty – “Love me ‘cause I stand for something bigger than my beauty. Love me ‘cause I’m beautiful enough to blow your fucking mind.”

“We are all beautiful in so many ways but get so fixated on the things that aren’t perfect that we forget to recognize all the incredible parts of ourselves,” Grace says about the track. “I have felt insecure about my appearance and tried to change myself to impress others, but it only made me feel less and less confident. I want to show myself for who I truly am, including all the imperfections, because being proud of myself and accepting my flaws is what makes me beautiful.”
