Sour Honey - 'Snub'
Manchester’s newest band Sour Honey aren’t letting the pandemic stop them getting their feet off the ground with their explosive new single ‘Snub’.
A combination of two Manchester bands in Young Monarch and Cosmo Calling, this new four-piece haven’t had the easiest start to life. Sour Honey managed to get their debut single ‘Dennis’ out just in time, but their debut show wasn’t so lucky with lockdown extinguishing those hopes. However, the time since has allowed the quartet to become more acquainted and more importantly, allowed them to focus on the music with ‘Snub’ being the product of that.
‘Snub’ is the chalk to the cheese of ‘Dennis’, proving to be a much darker affair than their debut which shows that Sour Honey aren’t afraid to play with their sound and aren’t here to make up the numbers in a highly populated scene. This grungy track is focused around a relationship that is in a “bad place” and one so bad there is no feeling and just “numb” to all emotion which brilliantly comes across in the vocals and also in the production to really signify that dread.
Very rarely you’ll get a band that sounds that sound so slick and at the same time are so early into their journey, Sour Honey is one of those rare occasions and ‘Snub’ really sets the benchmark for what we can expect from this four-piece.
‘Snub’, the new single from Sour Honey is available now on all major streaming platforms.
