Have you ever wondered what moonlight might sound like? Dublin alt-pop quintet TOYGIRL may just have given us a taste on striking third single ‘Poison’.

With dreamy synths and an array of fuzzy guitar lines, ‘Poison’ lives in a wonderfully immersive soundscape. Its sweet rhythms that perfectly intertwine with Hannah Worall’s captivating vocals create a feeling of weightlessly floating in deep space as echoes of melancholy laced melodies turn into an ethereal chorus. Lyrically, ‘Poison’ takes on the full kaleidoscope of love - This song is about deep infatuation, platonic, or romantic,” the band explain. “The feeling that someone has accepted your purest form and loves you unconditionally. It’s one of the first songs that I wrote where my words felt transparent and straightforward, in some ways that makes me feel more vulnerable but also more connected to the song.”

With this third offering, following previous singles ‘Moonlight Velvet’ and ‘Reign’, TOYGIRL manifest their unique and creative brand of sound that effortlessly combines varying musical influences and turns them into something truly mesmerising.
