Rising Norwegian singer Marie Noreger releases the follow up to her debut track ‘Adore - that came out in June, with new single ‘Soulfully High’. This track provides us with a taster of her debut EP and if you give it a listen, you will discover why we quickly got obsessed with her creative style. Marie took a moment to talk to us in more depth about the track.

Hey there Marie - so how are you?
Heii! I’m fine, thank you for asking

Your new track ‘Soulfully High’ is out now - can you tell us what the track is about?
Yes, That’s quite exciting!
Soulfully high was originally a poem I wrote when I was 16, facing a rough season.
The poem started off as sad, but as grew older and experienced other sides of myself, the poem changed and it ended up as a song :)
Now the song is really not sad at all. I feel like I’m singing to myself as if I was my best friend, lover or sister.. It became a sort of guiding song rather than a sad song telling a sad story. I just want to share good energy! Self love and feeling calm around yourself!

It is the second single from your debut EP, how is that coming along and when can we get to hear that?
We’ve been working a lot in the studio lately and it's been a lot of fun! The EP is ready early 2021

You come from quite a creative family - can you tell us more about that? And do you think growing up in an environment like that, led you on your own creative journey?
Yes, definitely! My family gave me the freedom to dream and to express myself in the way I wanted. Not only that, but seeing them loving music, art and having an open mind has been a major inspiration and guide to except myself and be me.

You are also a freelance photographer - what sort of photography do you like?
That’s a good question. A great photo can be perceived differently but I stand by this word called “ugly-nice”. If a photo is perfect, I usually don’t find it that interesting. I love pictures that are more or less imperfect. Pictures that have movement and expression.
