Brighton-based duo Loda.mi - French vocalist Léa Dubois and UK-born producer and vocalist Elliot Turnley - announce their arrival with striking debut single ‘Dial-Up’.

Set to an atmospheric backdrop of immersive beats and soothing electronica, ‘Dial-Up’ coats the world in a calming shade of blue. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to close your eyes and slip into a state of dreaming. Loda.mi’s dual vocals whose elegant dance is amplified by a swelling brass section in the track’s final third add an extra layer of dreamy nostalgia complimenting the emotive soundscape. “Dial-up was inspired by the feeling of meeting someone briefly, and then having to move away from them without knowing when you will next meet,” Elliot explains. “It’s about the thought of long distance, the doubts you have about letting yourself get sucked in but also the excitement and uncertainty of new beginnings. It’s about making things work and believing in the feelings you have.”

‘Dial-Up’ is the story of a beginning; a marvellous first taste of Loda.mi’s fresh new take on sound that sees elements of pop, garage, R&B and gorgeous electronica coming together to create an unforgettable experience. As the duo says: “Our music explores nostalgia through memories of better times. We hope that our music can help people through these times as we remain hopeful for our culture to return soon”.

The duo’s first offering perfectly encapsulates the beginning of their relationship. Made up of French vocalist Léa Dubois and UK-born producer and vocalist Elliot Turnley, the pair have both experienced the struggle and heartache of long distance relationships before. Although tackling difficult themes, ‘Dial-up’ is an antidote to the noisy and troubling landscape we find ourselves in in this grey and introspective start to the year.
