Amber Jay - 'Stay The Same'
Liverpool bedroom pop newcomer Amber Jay announces the release of her debut EP ‘Never Too Far From A Dark Thought’ alongside new single ‘Stay The Same’.
A slow-moving intro greets you at the door to ‘Stay The Same’ and leads the way into gritty alt-pop spheres where punchy beats and immersive harmonies await. To a groove-infused undercurrent, Amber’s delicate vocals draw hypnotic sigils into the air and cast a lingering spell on you. “‘Stay The Same’ is a classic heartbreak track. It encapsulates that pining feeling for someone when a relationship has ended and whatever you try to do to fix it just makes the other person more and more distant,” Amber says about the track. “Kind of like when you're swimming and there's like a lilo in the water and every time you try and wade towards it to get on, the water's ripples from your movement pushes it further and further away.”
Following previous single ‘Pencilled Brims’, ‘Stay The Same’ is yet another magnetic offering that sees Amber Jay reframe the bedroom pop narrative. Channelling her unbound creativity into experimental productions, upcoming EP ‘Never Too Far From A Dark Thought’ promises to be a bold record bursting with colour.
