Thyla – 'Breathe'
Brighton’s grungy dreamboats, Thyla, return with ethereal new single ‘Breathe’.
As a band, Thyla have become synonymous with explosive synth pop and immaculate attention to detail, creating airy soundscapes that transport you to worlds of pure imagination. ‘Breathe’ once again affirms their status as dream-pop pioneers. Wrapped into Thyla’s trademark immersive sonic textures, the track has an undeniably hypnotic appeal. Ethereal vocals and intricate harmonies build a safe space for dreamers to gaze out into an endless sky of swirling synths and melancholic shooting stars. “The song is about loneliness, estrangement from family and close friends, yet despite this, feeling a sense of inner strength about the situation,” vocalist Millie explains. “It’s like recovering from a breakup and realising you’ve come out stronger, but a reflection of the scar tissue that resulted from the trauma."
‘Breathe’ is accompanied by the long-awaited announcement of Thyla’s upcoming debut album. Having ranked up an impressive collection of atmospheric singles and EPs over the past three years, this record is long overdue and fans all across the globe shiver in anticipation of the immersive experience it is no doubt going to be.
