Blu DeTiger – 'Vintage'

Rising New York singer-songwriter Blu DeTiger announces the release of her debut EP ‘How Did We Get Here’ alongside groovy new single ‘Vintage’.

Blu DeTiger is not only a stunning vocalist, she’s also a whizz on the bass and, in keeping with that reputation, ‘Vintage’ comes with a killer bassline. Set into a vibrant funk-scape, the track’s feel-good undercurrent weightlessly carries Blu’s confident lyricism and creates an anthemic atmosphere. "I sing about needing a 'vintage boy' - not to take me out on the town or to make me feel special - but to be an accessory to my sick outfit." Blu says about the track“Usually, the perspective is from the guy who has a girlfriend as his arm candy. In my version, the girl is still the main character. The song is meant to empower, along with highlight the characters that I often run into in New York City."

With retro vibes and infectious grooves, ‘Vintage’ gives a glimpse into the inner workings of Blu’s debut EP, set for release in March. It’s high time we move the bass out of the lead guitar’s shadow and back into the spotlight – after all, it’s the very thing that breathes the life into music. Fortunately, ‘How Did We Get There’ is shaping up to be the perfect record for the job.
