Inspired #312 - My Life As A Moth
My Life As A Moth comes crashing into the light with her debut single ‘Chest Of Dress Up’. A bewitching theatrical number about scenarios of when we as people are not entirely honest with others, or ourselves. She took a moment to talk to us about the inspirations behind the track and her music.
Who are your top three musical inspirations and why?
David Bowie, Kate Bush and Debbie Harry because they are true originals.
Is there a certain film that inspires you and why?
Tracks - the movie adaptation of the book by Robyn Davidson, for the pursuit of adventure and human determination, and the stunning shots of the desert
What city do you find the most inspiring and why?
Lisbon because every street corner you turn the city gives you something. Arriving was like a breath of fresh air. There is an aliveness and otherworldly beauty to the city.
Who is the most inspiring person to you and why?
Brené Brown for championing sensitivity and teaching the world that vulnerability is courage.
What were your inspirations when writing your new track?
My new track was inspired by contrast. The beauty of childlike expression and the unpleasantness of adult childishness. Egoless surrender and the desperate need for control.
How would you like to inspire people?
I would love to inspire joy in people and the courage to be your true self.
