Festival News: All Points East Announce Headliners, First Wave of Bands for 2022
All Points East is returning to Victoria Park next summer, and have announced the headliners for the six-day festival along with a great collection of acts set to appear across the weekends.
Animation’s greatest musicians Gorillaz will be the first headliner of the festival, closing the first night on Friday 19th August with support from Bristol rock act IDLES.
Following on will be APE Presents: Field Day, which brings a double-headline experience from electronic legends The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk to close the first weekend.
The festival continues throughout the August bank holiday, kicking off with Tame Impala headlining on Thursday 25th with support from French Kiwi Juice (FKJ) and Caroline Polachek. The National take over to headline on Friday 26th, supported by Fleet Foxes and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Disclosure close the night on Saturday 27th, with support from James Blake and Fred Again…, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds will be seeing off the festival in style on Sunday 28th with the support of Michael Kiwanuka.
Additional acts that have been announced include the likes of Self Esteem, Koffee, Rae Morris, Japanese Breakfast, Tinariwen, Low, Anna Calvi, Greentea Peng, Yves Tumor, Cici, Pusha T, Bess Atwell, Floating Points, Freddie Gibbs, Jehnny Beth, Daniel Avery, Lucy Dacus, Aldous Harding, and many more with more to be announced.
Jim King, CEO of European Festivals at AEG Presents, has stated: “Last summer showed how much we missed All Points East, so it’s hugely exciting to not just launch 2022, but to be able to announce all 6 incredible headliners, and more artists across the two weekends, in one go. It’s also great to welcome back Field Day after the huge success of their All Points East Presents show last summer. All 6 event days and the midweek In The Neighbourhood community programme make 2022 the biggest All Points East to date.”
Director of APE Presents: Field Day, Gareth Cooper, continued: “Off the back of a successful year last year, we're delighted Field Day is returning to Victoria Park to celebrate its 15th edition. This year will be our biggest yet and we're excited to welcome two of the most iconic acts in the history of electronic music to the festival, as well as a selection of the most groundbreaking artists in the industry.”
Tickets are on sale from Thursday 25th November at 10am, and will be available through the official All Points East website: www.allpointseastfestival.com
