Introducing #196 - Crawford
Let us introduce you to new rising artist Crawford - who has just released his new track ‘Wandering Heart’. Taking influence from the vintage 60s and 70s soul music and giving it his own modern spin. He took a moment to talk to us about his music.
Hey there Crawford - how are you? Your new track ‘Wandering Heart’ is out now - can you tell us what it is about?
I wrote Wandering Heart about 4 years ago after moving to LA I wrote it about being lonely in a big city and looking for love! After the pandemic, being quarantined and spending time with myself and doing a lot of self reflection, I looked at this song with a new perspective. It kind of turned into a self love anthem in a way about the person I was looking to love me was myself.
Where are you based? What are your favorite things to do there?
I’m based in Los Angeles, CA! I love playing music and being surrounded by talented musicians. Very grateful to live in such a creative city
What are your key influences when it comes to your music?
I’m very influenced by classic vintage soul music. I try to incorporate that into my music but give it a modern twist so it feels relevant and fresh! I’m heavily influenced by artists like Allen Stone, Emily King, Stevie Wonder, ect.
How would you describe your sound to someone who has never listened to your music before?
I would describe my music as indie/soul! It’s feel good music with a touch of magic to make your ears happy.
Now the track is out there - what next for you?
I’m working on some new music right now to be released next year that I’m very excited about! I think that it’s going to be bit of a change than people are used to and I’m very excited for a new chapter
