CIEL - 'Pretty Face'

A smooth, new alternative pop song has been released by Brighton-based trio CIEL. The trio created a blissful sound with beautiful harmonies, angelic compositions and surprising hooks that keep ‘Pretty Face’ interesting at all times. Building upon their near spotless reputation, ‘Pretty Face’ is making hopes, dreams and expectations come true after previous releases such as ‘Days’ and ‘All My Life’.

‘Pretty Face’ draws upon a warm and filling soundscape that listens like a comforting hug, a musical dream-like soundscape different from any others within their genre at the moment. Vocalist and guitar-player Michelle shares what inspired them to write and release ‘Pretty Face’: “I really got into watching documentaries about all sorts of cults during lockdown 2.0 - the psychology behind it really fascinates me. One story really struck me, about this man that lost his wife to a cult, and now ten years later continuing life, knowing that she’s still somewhere out there - having to let go of her.  Whereas most people probably can’t directly relate to something as extreme as losing someone to a cult, a lot more people can relate to the experience of choosing to care for themselves, even if that is a very tough decision.”

CIEL gives us a helping hand in taking care of ourselves during days that are mostly grey and sceneries that mostly consist of the inside of our houses. With ‘Pretty Face’ they offer a bit of comfort and a lot of inspiration to sit back and relax, to take a break and a breather because life will still be there when we get back to it, but other people might not be.
