Inspired #203 - nothing,nowhere.
Vermont artist nothing,nowhere. has just released his highly anticipated album ‘TRAUMA FACTORY’ - which sees him taken his blend of alternative pop, punk and rap to a whole new level. He took a moment to talk about the inspirations behind his music.
Who are your top three musical inspirations?
it’s nearly impossible for me to think of 3 but an artist that has always inspired me to do more and branch out is prince. his legacy and his versatility is unmatched in my eyes. RIP
Is there a certain film that inspires you?
i’d say these days it’s “the revenant”. as someone who loves sad music and the outdoors i’d say that film has the perfect mix of both. it inspires me to pick up my guitar and stare out the window as it snows.
Which city do you find the most inspiring?
i’m not much of a city person but i’ve learned to love pieces of urban life from touring. prague was sort of mind blowing when i visited. the architecture, people, old castles. there was a unique energy about it and i love history so it was a blast.
Who is the most inspiring person to you?
My parents. i just love them.
What were your inspirations when writing your new album?
Friends, nature, pain. everything really. i listened to the music i loved growing up and the music i love now. i got to see the world before making the album and just made it a diary i guess.
How would you like to inspire people?
At the end of the day if i helped someone with a song or made someone’s day better with music then i’m happy.
