South London-based singer songwriter Becky CJ shares gorgeous new single ‘I Think I’m In Love With My Best Friend’.

Carried by Becky’s soulful vocals, this transcendent piano ballad uncovers the depth of emotional confusion that comes with the realisation of being in love. Steeped in introspective lyricism that thrills with the kind of poetic melancholia only genuine, raw emotion can produce, Becky gives free reign to her inner conflict. “I wrote ‘I Think I’m In Love With My Best Friend’ when I was a few months into a very emotionally confusing relationship with my female friend," she explains "One evening I sat down at the piano and sung the phrase ‘I think I’m in love with my best friend’. I’d never said those words out loud before and, honestly, I just started crying, it was a really scary admission!! The song is really raw, and I think it is the most honest I have ever been lyrically before. It means so much to me and now that me and my friend are together (woo it wasn’t unrequited) I look back on this song and what it represents so fondly.”

Serene yet laced with a restless desire, ‘I Think I’m In Love With My Best Friend’ is another stunning offering taken from Becky’s upcoming EP ‘Woman’ – a record that explores Becky’s journey of coming to terms with her sexuality. Fusing delicate lyricism with powerful harmonies and her flawless brand of dream pop, Becky CJ is an extraordinary talent that you should not be taking your eyes off of.
