Jared Alto – 'Not The One'

Rising singer-songwriter Jared Alto releases new single ‘Not The One’.

As cathartic as it is dramatic, ‘Not The One’ gives permission to feel a little sorry for yourself. Wrapped into gentle piano lines and a self-aware kind of sorrow, this powerful ballad finds Jared reflecting on the end of a relationship that seems to have been inevitable. "’Not The One’ is a song about relationships between incompatible people,” he explains. "Breakups are usually painted from the perspective of the broken hearted, but I wanted to draw from personal experience to show there’s pain and heartbreak for both people involved. There’s nothing simple about a breakup, and if you’ve been with somebody for a long time, there’s genuine torment that comes with the realisation that you both want different things."

Warm vocals, serene soundscapes and gracefully moving lyricism characterise Jared Alto’s heartfelt brand of sound. Following sombre debut single ‘Open’, ‘Not The One’ solidifies Jared’s simmering blend of raw intimacy and soothing melodies. A must listen for fans of Sleeping At Last and Aquilo.
