Abnorm - 'Everything Temporary'
Emerging alternative rock five piece Abnorm have just released new single ‘Everything Temporary’ which showcases a sound that is hopefully here to stay!
The Newcastle-based band were formed shortly before the first lockdown and ‘Everything Temporary’ is only their second single yet sounds like something that has been mulled over vigorously before having been released. Debut single ‘Citrus’ was released in September last year and set the tone for the band’s determined and rather unique sound. The band sound positive and energetic and won’t let the pandemic stop them from releasing their music and profiling themselves as a brand new promise arising from the North East music scene.
‘Everything Temporary’ is the comforting sound of others feeling the same way when feeling like things in our current climate are only temporary. “‘Everything Temporary’ is the unwanted feeling that you can’t shake when you know that something just won’t last. Whether that be in a relationship that’s about to finish or a building that will one day be demolished. It’s about feeling despair from the unfortunate things that the world is throwing our way.”
Abnorm were scheduled to perform at Newcastle’s Tyne Bank Brewery but another lockdown threw a spanner in the works, most exciting will be to see how the band will translate their recorded sound into a live setting. We are currently rehearsing the lyrics of both ‘Citrus’ and ‘Everything Temporary’ just in case live music returns… Which it of course will do in the near future! We’re staying positive and Abnorm’s new release helps greatly with that.
