Julian Skiboat – 'My Room'
Multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and “sad boy” Julian Skiboat shares his sunny new single ‘My Room’.
Set to a breezy backdrop of bright guitars and carefree rhythms, ‘My Room’ showcases a different, more upbeat side to Julian’s usual brand of sad love songs. But that doesn’t translate into his lyricism, though its warm vocals and quirky instrumentation speak of good vibes only, ‘My Room’s core is still very much rooted in ennui: “Nothing ever goes my way, so I stay inside.” Talking about the track, Julian says: "It's about feeling bored, lonely, and stagnant. I have such a love for this song because I think it really represents me well. Having this upbeat happy instrumental with slightly sombre lyrics really embodies me as a whole."
Following emotive debut EP ‘nice to meet u’, ‘My Room’ is the first offering in a line of new material that introduces Julian Skiboat’s new-found wave of optimism. He explains: “I think with my upcoming songs and projects I really want to dive into that kind of like ‘it could be worse’, ‘I can make it through this’ message.”
