Bowski Island - 'Physical Presence'

Bowski Island shares his fears about digital relationships replacing physical connection on powerful indie electronic single, ‘Physical Presence’.

Produced by David Pietras and written by Bowksi Island (David Pietras), ‘Physical Presence’ opens with ethereal wails and disjointed, niggling melodies that echo with apprehension. ‘Physical Presence’ explores Peitras’ sorrow at the idea of the developed world believing they have spent quality time with their loved ones, when it’s only been through their phones. Peitras’ vocal is distant, melancholic and thoroughly captivating as he laments, ‘I used to touch you every day but nowadays you’re digital’.

As the track develops, the ethereal nature of the song expresses itself not only through the vocal, but through its energetic and enthralling electronic textures. The track moves through slower and faster dynamics at ease, meticulously pairing tension with rushes of adrenaline with one goal in mind; to remind its listener that although the digital world has its uses, we are most connected with ourselves, each other and nature through being physically present.

‘Physical Presence’ is the potent and thought-provoking first single from Bowski Island's upcoming EP which is set to be released this summer. Bowski Island’s most recent single, ‘A Place And A Person’, can also be streamed below.
