Small and fragile, but strong in its own right, Jodi’s new single and lyric video ‘Softy’ strike a different chord and demand your attention while providing a first taste of upcoming LP ‘Blue Heron’.

Jodi, better known as Nick Levine, is a Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who writes from personal experiences and emotions. ‘Softy’ is an open-hearted letter to a friend, “It is a reality check, and a reminder of the sheer scale of the world (and our relative smallness).” The song comes with a lyric video directed by Nico Garcini, showcasing the song’s atmosphere effortlessly.

‘Softy’ is intimate and reads like pages from a diary, being a mix of slow jazz, compelling country-influences and an understated soundscape that works a precursor to the upcoming debut LP, Blue Heron. The album delivers a series of soft-spoken and intimate moments that are capable of turning our inner world upside down, fueled by whispers and soft musical notes. For Nick, Jodi is an alter-ego that gives him the chance to push boundaries and step outside of their inner world.
